And for those who do not...No disrespect intended, but as you point out, God isn't a "rub three times and you get three wishes" genie. Bad things happen to Christians. Good things happen to non-Christians. Everyone experiences both the ups and downs of life, whatever their faith (or lack thereof).

There are lovely, kind Christians and non-Christians. There are abusive, judgemental Christians and non-Christians.

But I do agree with the idea that we should all be living lives of kindness, compassion, tolerance etc. whatever spiritual or religious paths we walk.

I also love that you saw your interaction with this lady as an opportunity to grow stronger in your faith. Hope is a beautiful thing, and whatever the inspiration to help us be better, kinder, more loving beings is a blessing.
