And the story you're telling here is filled with so much love, such deep connections within your family - all I dreamed of creating but I've certainly not come anywhere near achieving that dream. Five kids, five grandchildren - I have a beautiful relationship with one daughter - that's it.

No connections with my extended family, apart from a rare email with one aunt and uncle thousands of miles away.

However, reading stories like yours gives me a glimpse into what it must be like to have the kind of family I wanted since I was a terrified, lonely little kid in a toxic home.
