If you're looking to earn money from writing, it can be easier to pick up $50 or $75 here and there online than you might think. Google something like, "websites that pay more than $50 for articles" and you will get lots of them. You'll get websites that list numerous online magazines and blogs that'll pay for content.

It's especially good if you develop a good relationship with them and they know and appreciate your work. Makes it easier for them to say yes to future submissions.
