Daniel, this is so lovely! Having attended the funeral made this an extra meaningful read for me because I saw for myself how much Gabrielle touched so many lives and how beautifully she was honoured and celebrated.

I loved hearing so many stories about her and between what I heard at the funeral and what I know from your writings - and in particular this one - I can now understand why you've been able to get through this terribly difficult time while staying positive and keeping your sense of humour.

This is not to say you haven't also been experiencing tremendous pain, of course. It's just that I can see how Gabrielle's presence has been such a positive influence, a sheer force of love and joy, and always focusing on the bright side no matter how much suffering you might be experiencing because that's how she lived.

She's certainly going to leave a big hole in the lives of everyone who knew her, but there will also be plenty of warm and loving memories to help ease the sharp edges of grief over time.
