Frances, thank you for sharing this deeply painful story. I know that terrible pain of losing a dear friend in that way. In the particular case I’m thinking of, the whole family was in an accident (collision with a train during a blizzard). Two of the four children died (my two best friends in childhood). They were 15 and 17. I was 16.

But an entire family wiped out…how horrific for their extended families and close friends.
