Great story! I love your analogy of killing a fly with a brick - and also the idea of buying a phone that flosses your teeth! Fab imagination there and it sure worked to demonstrate your point!
There is another option here for your fella - buy two bikes! One for his rides with you and the charity ride, and one for his competitions. Easy peasy.
Thank you for sharing your insights. Great story - and I'm SO with you on this. I don't like things with a million bells and whistles that I don't need. Give me the basics in everything I'm purchasing. And just give me a phone that works with the few bits I want and I'm good.
When I've bought iphones, I use them till they die and then buy the next one that's already "on the way out" or past its expiry date because they've moved on to 400 other levels of iphone. I don't WANT all the extras and I don't WANT a phone that's nearly as big as a dang ipad!
I'm dreading when my iphone 6SE dies because I fear the next "bottom of the heap" one is going to be one of those big ones. And it'll probably floss my dang teeth, too! LOL!
