Hello, Donnette, I've been MIA for a while - five and a half months later, still recovering from my nasty injury and surgery. Had to pop in today to read a handful of my favourite writers and also added a few of my own words. Lovely to read your work again! And I really appreciate this piece in particular.
I agree SO MUCH with what you've written. It is definitely a challenge to date as we age; our "requirements" change, there's a sharp decline in available people in the dating pool - it is not easy. I've had a lot of dates and even a budding relationship or two that lasted a few months - but they've always revealed issues that are deal breakers (anger issues, emotional abuse etc.). I finally gave up and have figured there's no point in looking anymore.
So I really appreciated reading about your friend, Jassett. It gives me hope. Although I'm not actively seeking a partner (can't even leave my home without a lot of help until I am more fully recovered), maybe That Special Someone will turn up when Divine Timing is right.
Thank you for another wonderful read.
