Hi, Nanie, no worries about your first reply, I didn't see it! I clicked on it when scrolling through notifications but it said it had been deleted. Besides, I've had those moments myself. It's all good!

I tried to state my concern for you in a way that was neutral. I was trying to look out for you, so if it came across any other way, I'm sorry about that.

I'm certainly no expert in copyright laws, I'm just aware in a general way because of having published more than a dozen books and colouring books. I'm also an artist and I've spent a lot of time hanging out with other authors and artists who are concerned about protecting their intellectual property.

I was also thinking about it because I'm in the process of trademarking Witchy and trying to keep her protected. So for example, I would be quite upset to see anyone tracing her and using her for something like that. She's a special creation of my heart and is central to my work. But I probably wouldn't be bothered if it was my doodles from my colouring books (unless someone was making money from them).

I can completely understand how complicated it is because of not having a specific artist especially with doodles!

Like I said, Nanie, I'm no expert. It sounds like you've given this a fair bit of thought, plus the way you describe these images, there might not be an issue anyway.

I just saw those super adorable characters and thought it might be helpful to raise the concern in case the original artist saw them and wasn't happy about it. Didn't want you getting into any trouble.

If your investigations leave you feeling confident, then that's good! Hope you have a beautiful day.
