Hi, Tullia, Thank you so much for reading this and sharing your thoughts. I've been a practicing witch for 30 years so I understand all you've said.

I used to have that same 'jitter' at the sound of the word, Satan, even though I did not believe in a Being with horns, tail, pitchfork, burn in hell blah blah blah - but it came from years of conditioning in our culture, and a backdrop of 'what if it's true?'And as you say, it's a construct of Christianity, which has its own complications and issues!

Someone I trusted implicitly shared the Satanic Bible with me about 20 years ago. I read it and was fascinated by how different it was to what we've been fed about "Satan." It was that difference between devil worshipping and LaVey's concept of Satan that was so intriguing and made so much sense.

He recognised that we are animals, and therefore carnal by nature, and we should not deny that true nature. EG animals don't go off and kill for sport. They attack only if their own safety is threatened or they kill for food but not for fun, like humans do.

I appreciate all you said and yeah, it's too bad they used the term "Satanist" for this movement, which is actually quite respectful, honest, and down-to-earth.

Thanks sooo much for taking the time to share your thoughts. We're definitely on the same page!! 💜
