Hi, Warren,

Thank you for another kind message, and for your comments about my writing a memoir.

I did write my life story several years ago (880 pages in five weeks) and surprisingly, it got the attention of five literary agents in London!!

The one with whom I signed said he wanted to turn it into a film after publishing but said "it's too much story for one film. It will have to be a TV series." I was shocked. He said, "This is a story that needs to be told!"

Ultimately, though, even though I used fake names for everyone, I was concerned about retaliation and opening some huge cans of worms that would have been quite destructive to me and potentially to others. That was not my intention in writing it - but I never really expected to get an agent anyway, it's so hard!

I asked my agent not to seek publication until I could rewrite it as an autobiographical novel. I was going to rearrange things, maybe lump some of the husbands together or add or remove kids etc. but every time I tried to rewrite it, it felt completely wrong. Watered down. It wasn't my story.

So I never did it. I've published the first three chapters in a lot of short segments here because the other characters in the first 16 years of my life are dead, so I'm safe to write about it.

Not sure what to do with the rest. Might publish excerpts. Might just keep writing about the insights that have come from all of that insanity. Don't know.

All I know is that I have plenty of fodder!

In the meantime, I will enjoy reading your beautiful words and getting to know you through your writing and these little conversations. Thanks so much again for your kind comments, Warren.

Warmest wishes,

Liberty
