I appreciate all you said about how beautiful a snowfall is, and for me, it's especially lovely at night to see those big, fat, fluffy flakes falling against moonlight as a backdrop. And yes, making snowmen is fun (not a chance I'd ever ski, though!).

It's a whole other thing to have to be digging your car out from under a foot of it, and chiselling the ice off a windscreen in -40°, and driving in a blizzard when you can't see the road in front of you.

And of course, this injury I sustained 15 months ago was thanks to snow and ice, so now I'm battling my fear of walking in this stuff again.

You're right, a lovely snowfall reminds us of Mother Nature's ability to create beauty. It's also a great reminder of her power to destroy, and that looks can be deceiving.

A beautiful story and I loved imagining you here with me by my fireplace with a hot drink, a good friend and lots of conversation while the snow falls outside!
