I do love your writing style, Jet! And in answer to your questions at the top about feedback - I'm in both camps. In some ways, this was confusing for me and i wanted more clarity - and I figured it's just me). And in other ways, I thought it was interesting that you left what felt like holes or unanswered questions, because perhaps that was your intent, leaving the reader to figure it out.

It certainly made me way to know more. Perhaps you will write another piece that fills in some of those gaps. Not a retelling of this one, but a related one. You could have a little mini-series, like in novels where they give you the story in bits, from different points of view, and share them in different chapters, or they're done with a section break.

Like - this could be the opening scene. Then there's a section break and we get another bit about this long with someone else's POV - and a section break, and a bit more info ...

Or chapters done from the POV of different characters.

Anyway - this could be a cool little mini-series here, and you could create a list for it and put all the stories in it. Just sayin' !!
