I love every word of your reply ❤️ How lovely that you never lost that link.
I'm not sure I lost it...my life just led me down a lot of twisting, painful, chaotic roads that did not allow much opportunity to do anything about it.
But when it did, I relished every second. Still do. One of the things I miss most about my life in England was living in tiny villages in the English countryside where it was green year round. And for most of that time, I lived in my sweet 500-year-old stone cottage at the edge of a village and it was about a five-minute walk to a small lake. I used to love spending time there, sitting at the water's edge, watching the herons, swans, Canada geese, and other birds and wildlife.
It's especially challenging right now, with this injury, as I'm staying in a friend's basement and can't even see daylight, much less a tree. Can't get up the stairs by myself and it's a major effort and quite painful so I save it for my rare trips to the hospital for check-ups with the surgeon.
But this is temporary; I keep reminding myself of the blessings and know that this summer I will be able to find trees again and sit on grass.
You're so right, Rebecca, Mama Nature is an excellent teacher. And thankfully, she's patient, too. 💚🌳🌲🥰
