I love this, Alex. It shows just how easy it is to manipulate statistics or studies to make the results fit what you want them to say. You also make the point - ever so clearly - that as with anything else in life, the phones are not responsible for the quality of our lives, we are. Our intentions are what matter. Our own choices, and as just one example, "how we use our phones."

As you point out, are people wasting time scrolling through social media or are they interacting or doing emails or work stuff etc. late at night and keeping themselves awake? Or are they using their phones on "do not disturb" and listening to a sleepy meditation or anxiety-reducing app?

We can be so quick to blame others - or now an object - for the lack of contentment and joy we feel in life but if we're not happy, perhaps we need to take a closer look at how we're living, the choices we're making, how we spend our time, and above all, if we're honouring ourselves and taking care of ourselves on all levels before anything else.

Thanks for an excellent read!
