I SO love this piece!!! (but it's yours, so that's a given - but had to say it anyway!). Thank you for submitting this to HHH - what a wonderful story of unexpected gifts and humanity at its finest. A delightfully entertaining read - and I was literally holding my breath - right there with you when everything STOPPED and they all "stared at the hippies." I wondered what would come next. The laundry machine churning in the background - yep, that was right here, too. A brilliant bit of description that tied it all up so nicely.
