If you think about it, you've been living under many other threats your whole life. You probably get in cars all the time, or other modes of transportation, and off you go without giving a thought to the possibility of a lethal accident.

We're always facing that threat - whether it's with an aneurysm suddenly rupturing or some other medical emergency - we just shove it all to one side and don't think about it because we're used to just getting on with life.

Covid has only forced us to think about it but we're still living with many other threats - when combined, one of them is far more likely to kill us than Covid.

What Covid has done is given us an opportunity to look at our mortality and how we're living and what matters. It's been a period that's loaded with blessings if we choose to find them.

The fact that it's been in our collective faces is why we think about death now, but really there are countless other threats that we ignore. I think it's a good thing that we've been pushed to see what matters most. Just a shame that so many people have died.
