I'm so sorry this happened to you, Aarti, but at least you chose to take the lessons that were available to you. I can relate to this in so many ways and it's been one of my toughest lessons - the one about understanding that BOTH sides of a person are real. It's not just the lovely Dr Jekyll who is 'occasionally like Mr Hyde sometimes.' Those people are both.

So many times, I thought "Oh, but he/she wouldn't treat ME like that!" after seeing how they treated others. "He tells me he lies to everyone but I know he'd never lie to ME!" etc. Oh, my... 🤦🏻‍♀️
