I've always used photos from photo websites and credited the supposed photographers. But the problem is, some of them have stolen the photos and writers are being sued for using them without properly crediting them. I received just such an email not long ago - from an IP lawyer - but thankfully, I was given the option of making the change. Some people are just flat-out sued right from the start, and having to cough up thousands in damages.

I was shocked and upset to discover who the photo thief was in this case. It was someone whose pics I've used on numerous occasions over the last several years. I have way too many pics on the internet to start digging, but it's in the back of my mind that maybe some of them are stolen and it will be discovered someday.

So I've been relieved to use AI for images so I can keep myself safe.
