I've not been back long after my absence due to preparing to move to Canada from England, followed by this leg injury last year so I was surprised to discover various changes.

I would continue writing here but probably not as much because I do appreciate the income and would need to spend time replacing it elsewhere. But I love the community here and do enjoy reading other people's work so yes, I would definitely still be here.

It does suck not to be able to share the friend link and at least allow people the three free ones but I also understand that this made it easier for people to get around paying and a lot of people were managing to read many more than that (I've seen lots of people on the internet talking about how to do it).

It's not presenting a big problem for me, though, so I'm not really bothered.

I've certainly seen a massive increase in income, though, compared to when I was here in '21 and first half of '22! Have had some Boosted pieces that have done extremely well plus one that wasn't Boosted and did better than my best one that WAS, but it was purely the subject matter that did it (the one about my son being convicted of first-degree murder) and it's been 2 months in the making. My best Boosted one is right behind it in earnings after just 2 weeks.

As you say though, Medium is always changing, so who knows what lies ahead? The thing is - it's impossible to please everyone. It's impossible to do everything exactly perfectly because there are just too many things to try to fit together. I think they're doing their best to make things better for us, but it means we have to compromise. I'm okay with that.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and raising these issues for everyone to consider, Bebe. An excellent read, as usual!
