Oh, gosh, Karen, that's a tough one! I had a friend in the UK who would become violently sick if she ate garlic. Even the smell could make her sick. It was always such a challenge to think of something to feed her because as you say, garlic is in a lot of things. It's one of my faves to cook with for casseroles, pasta, soups, even roasted or stir-fried veggies.

I'm sorry to hear you've developed some food aversions and fears. My goodness, that's gotta be upsetting. I'm sure I've told you I used to have LOADS of anxiety disorders and issues with that in my young adulthood - so I do understand how hard that is.

I'm sure you're doing all you can and investigating lots of options that could help. For me, mindfulness was a game-changer. I learned to let go of the spinning "what if" thoughts and to focus on the moment, and although it took a little practice, it wasn't long before I noticed real change and eventually the anxiety went. There were a few other thought-related strategies at the same time, unravelling 'mother issues' and other things that contributed to the destructive thoughts.

the point is - I did find a way through those fears and all the anxiety and I hope that gives you hope, too!

Thank you for sharing your experience, Karen. Wishing you peace and a lot of calm!
