Oh, my goodness, Grace!!!! I'm absolutely shocked about the abusive behaviour you had to endure over school dinners. I have to say, during my years in England I was horrified by how much bullying there was, certainly in the past, but even present day. My daughter experienced some emotionally abusive comments and treatment by the teachers because she was Canadian and said things in a different way. She was humiliated and embarrassed in front of the class on various occasions. The kids loved her but the teachers were horrible.

I had an American friend there and her daughter attended the same school. She was petite, 5'2, 13 years old and the sixth form boys would pin her to the floor and slap her, punch her, swear at her because she was American.

Working on Psychic Light (phone line), I got sooo many calls from parents who were wondering how their child's bullying case would go at school, or people at work who were bullied by colleagues or bosses.

It was shockingly rampant, yet I kept hearing about zero tolerance for bullying. All lip service as far as I could tell!

Thank heaven you didn't have the same kind of food issues at home!

Thank you so, so much for sharing this on HHH, Grace! This is a brilliant response to my Food for Thought invitation!! And your title - FABULOUS!!!

I'm so glad you weren't permanently scarred with eating disorders and the resulting damage, and happy that you can write about it with a sense of humour.
