Oh, my - Suma, I'm in tears. This is so beautiful. I adore the way you wrote this, the way you were expressing so beautifully the conversation and relationships between you and the ingredients, the cake as it was coming into being - and you kept it separate from your angst about your mother-in-law, where you brilliantly shared a different conversation that said so much in not many words.

I love the way your back-and-forthing between the two conversations gives a clear look at how much baking helped you, how you used it so deliberately as a meditation, a place to refocus and be happy, no matter what else was happening.

And I love that you were clear about needing to leave the anger etc. OUT OF IT. You didn't beat the hell out of the eggs to get rid of your anger, for example. You let go of the emotion, and then turned back to your ingredients with love.

The result would be much tastier, for sure ...

And such a beautiful lesson about how we can choose to let go of our negative emotions and choose to create peace and calm from within.

I absolutely love this piece. Thank you so much for sharing it on HHH, my dear friend. I am honoured to publish it. 💜
