Oh, Sam...as I neared the end - from the moment of hearing about his daughter - the tears began to flow, and by the very last bit - about own illness and death, I was a mess.

Having read your deeply moving story of how this man inspired you throughout your life, I can only begin to imagine how distraught you'd have been on hearing of his death.

Nearer the beginning, I was busy being a proud Canadian because we're blessed to have produced some incredible talent - Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morrisette, Gordon Lightfoot, The Guess Who, Colin James, Shania Twain, KD Lang, Paul Anka, Anne Murray, Jan Arden...the list goes on and on.

It was wonderful to read some of his words that specifically inspired you, and why he made such an impression on you.
