Ohhh, Susan, I so wish I could be there and do that stuff with you - or for you!!

I know it can be tough on a lot of marriages.

My (now former) husband and I always got on so well in pretty much everything (so why the divorce? Long story but it wasn't about incompatibility). And especially when we were ripping up the 500-year-old stone cottage we bought together, and restoring it to something more like its original condition. We both thrive on DIY projects and worked really well together. It was so much fun!

I wish I'd been a carpenter. If I could go back for a re-do, I'd have done that instead of getting married at 17 and having a baby 10 months later and being divorced another 10 months after that. Never mind more marriages and kids and problems.

Wonderful to be doing all those lovely things you mention - and LOGS???? OHHHH yummy! Stone - logs - happiness for me in a home.

Lots of deep breaths, Susan - you'll get through it and be so happy when it's all done! And maybe you'll post pics and a story or stories about the process?? If you do, PLEASE tag me so I don't miss them!
