Ohhhh I totally agree with you!!! And I have a thing for cool old doors! That glass one is hideous! I had the immense pleasure to own a 500-year-old cottage in England. My (now former) husband and I smashed out the plaster in three of the rooms and restored the stone walls. Ripped out carpets to expose beautiful oak planks upstairs and original quarry tile downstairs.

We delighted in making it more like it would have been long ago.

It has always driven me nuts to see people move into beautiful old homes and then “modernize” them!!! Why????? Why not go buy a newer house and leave all that irreplaceable charm for those of us who love and appreciate it???! 🤦🏻‍♀️
