And yes, this entire community is changing, the platform is changing wildly and quickly.

I read somewhere online that the glitch was fixed on January 8. Since then, there have been conflicting comments from the higher-ups - Scott and Tony, I believe. One comment that they were "investigating to understand" what's happening with our earnings, and another post saying the earnings calculations are correct.

Those can't both be true. Someone is lying.

Plus, last 'glitch' Sept of '23, they were reassuring us that our earnings would be restored once they fixed it - which did happen, and in a very short time (days? a week?). To my knowledge, no one has said that this time, and other writers I've asked haven't heard it either. We're nearing a month now and nothing has changed and they remain quiet.

I think this is it - our new normal. A penny or less per read on average - and that means Medium wants us to pay them so they can value our read time and our writing time in fractions of pennies.

The worst is not hearing anything. They act like we don't matter. No updates about the situation - which I believe is because we are living our answer. This is how it's going to be now.

But my FoM goes to September, I will stick around at least for a while because I care about people here. Like you!! 💜
