Same here - although I do like sparkling water now and then so I've been known to buy it on occasion. At least here in Canada, we have bottle depots. We pay a few ¢ extra for any containers that hold drinks (cartons, bottles, cans) and then we get that money back when returning them to a depot.

It helps stop people from throwing them away when they're too lazy to put them in a recycling bin.

And here's a cool thing! I just bought a couple of beautiful carpets for my patio and they're made from recycled plastic straws!! You'd never know to look at them.
