Thank you!! It made it so hard to say "no" to many people whose writing was really not very good. But I did it. If i saw someone with reasonable potential who needed some guidance, I said yes and did a lot to help them improve.

There were many who were SO not good though, and I gave them a gentle "not a good fit". Hard, but necessary to maintain the integrity of the pub to a reasonable standard.
