Thank you, E.A.! Yep, I'm on the mend - working on 21 months, still healing but so so so grateful that I'm at least functional and can manage on my own for most things. A year ago I was still using a walker, just in the process of transitioning to crutches at the 8-9 month post-surgery point. Then another few months of crutches before the cane, and in the past few weeks I'm able to manage without that, too (but still kind of limpy hobbly and slow moving!)

So - quite a process and I am so grateful for how far I've come!

Thank you for asking about the water situation here. I am so astonished and impressed with how that went! Nine days after the initial break, they discovered more weak areas, which was when they extended the repair to a further 3-5 weeks if there were no problems. The absolute earliest would be July 5. They were scrambling to get equipment and pipe sections here from parts of N. America to speed things up, so July 5 was reeeeally unlikely.

But they actually completed it and allowed us unrestricted (but careful) indoor use by July 3! They still aren't back to full capacity, as they have to stabilise pressure gradually, but although we can't use hoses outside among a few other restrictions, they've re-opened swimming pools and we're slowly working back to 'normal.'

It's been quite interesting to hear how all of this works and the ways in which it was impacting people and certain businesses that need water for purposes we don't usually think about.

How are you doing? Any news in your world?
