Thank you for sharing this. I have been the person who married (more than once) when I had doubts. When something felt wrong but i didn't know what it was. My friends were all saying how happy they were for me etc. and what a great guy and blah blah blah - so I figured it was just me.

Then later, when the marriages ended, they'd tell me they didn't know why I married him, they didn't think he was right for me, they thought it wouldn't last...if they had spoken up, it would have validated my feelings and helped me to have the strength to back out of weddings i didn't want.

The biggest issue is that I was raised to believe my feelings don't matter, so I couldn't trust them. I couldn't trust myself. This is why it would have been helpful to have my friends tell me the truth as they saw it. It would have confirmed that I wasn't nuts for feeling the way I did!

Thank you for this story. You could save a lot of people a lot of trouble!
