Self-confidence comes from accepting yourself fully, flaws and all! This builds trust in yourself, and you worry less about what others think, so trusting them isn't such a big issue.
Gradually, anxiety disappears - at least anxiety that is about other people and their reactions or your interactions with them.
I think you probably trust yourself more than you might think; your ability to share these deeply personal thoughts and feelings and to be vulnerable like this is a show of inner strength.
