Thank you for your kind wishes for my sleep and writing!!
Toronto is 2,000 miles from here and they have a very different climate from Calgary. We are in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains here, and around 4,000 feet above sea level. Extremes of temps and huge, sudden swings, even going from -40C to +20C in a matter of hours - and back down again.
It is also generally extremely dry here but it can also be humid. Calgary's weather is erratic, sometimes having +20C winter days or snow in May, June, July...or +35C in summer - with snow the following week (not common but it happens!).
Toronto is much more stable and predictable. Generally very hot, 30sC in summer with extremely high humidity because of the Great Lakes. They contain more than 1/5th of the world's fresh water.
They can see minus teens in winter with some snow and a lot of ice with the humidity. Quite grey in winter, whereas we get a lot of bright blue skies with -20s, -30s, -40s here in winter.
Just what you needed (Not!). A geography and weather lesson about two parts of Canada. LOL!
It's been between -5 and -25 here in the past few weeks, up and down. Doesn't bother me, I don't leave my home now because it is icy. So I stay inside with the heating on! Yay!
I did go out one evening last week with a friend, it had been -20s in the preceding days and it was cold that day, too, but then it shot up to +7 that evening and snow and ice were melting. 🤦🏻♀️
