Thank you, HD! I wish I could sponsor every single kid who needs it.

The day I was doing this, I was on the organisation's website, scrolling past a sea of little faces that were all so sad and lost and scared. And I sat here in tears, wishing I could click on every single one of them.

Then there was that photo of Mahalet, with her big smile and her yellow dress. And it said she wanted to be a doctor.

I wanted to help give her that chance.

Turned out yellow is her favourite colour, and in every picture I've received of her since then, she's always got that big smile. She's 18 now, still in school, and still says she wants to be a doctor. Don't know how much longer I'll get to sponsor her (it goes till she finishes school). And I won't ever get to know what happens to her, or if she really does become a doctor. But I really do believe it'll happen. She just seems to have 'something' about her that tells me she'll do it.
