Thank you, Jasmin! I appreciate what you said. I've contemplated getting some weights but wasn't sure how much point there was. I know I could do upper body stuff but that's about it. Like, what, three exercises?! 🤪
I can't kneel. I can't squat - well, very slowly and carefull if I'm hanging onto something, I can get a little way down but not far, and then PAIN. Oops. It's really difficult to get onto the floor - and back up again.
So I'm pretty restricted.
I can't believe that nearly 2 years on, my knee is still a swollen, discoloured mess. And although I've come a long way in how far I can bend it, I still can't bend it as much as my uninjured leg.
Thank you for sharing some of your food journey with me. I was one of those people who rarely ate chocolate (and then, only in tiny amounts, it was too sweet for me).
I just didn't have a sweet tooth, would buy a Snickers bar and put it in the fridge, take a thin thin thin slice off it once in a while and my kids used to say, 'HOW CAN YOU DO THAT, MOM??!"
I've never liked things like cake and icing (GAG!). I preferred pie with not-too-sweet whipped cream - and never put lots of sugar in the pies either. Even then, healthy stuff - banana cream pie with homemade custard, not the packaged pudding mix stuff. Ew.
I do love cheese, though, always did. Still do but don't eat much of it because of the fat/calories.
I've been trying to add more protein recently as I heard that 'people of my age' are supposed to do that. It's good to know that it might help just to add more protein and make an effort at whatever weight stuff I'm able to do.
I feel like there's not much I can do and it wouldn't make much difference so why bother, but I suppose that's a dumb attitude, now that I've actually written the words! - and anything is better than nothing, right?
Yes, lots of blog posts hiding in your answer - for sure!
Thank you so much for caring, and for your kindness in sharing helpful information! 💜💜💜
