Yeah, much of adulthood is overrated. But for those of us who had extremely painful childhoods, it's preferable to be old enough to get the healing you need and create the joy and peace we didn't have growing up.

And there's the other side, too, as you point out. There were definitely SOME good moments as a kid, and concerns that don't show up till we have to pay our own bills etc. :)
