Thanks for an interesting read. Gosh, I hear you on Britsh sausages! What the hell... ??! Ew. Well, not entirely true - I did find some several years ago (I don't eat sausages now) - I think they were Tesco's Finest ? Caramelised onion ones - and they were yum. But generally - oh, man, tasteless and a weird mushy texture. Gimme some fab "Canajun" sausages - better yet, maple flavoured bacon - any day of the week!
