I spent most of my life here in Calgary, where we get huge dumps of snow (30cm in one day is not unusual) and loads of ice with minus 30s and 40s temps. I so loved my years in England and enjoyed the comparatively moderate winters and minimal ice and snow, but you're right, the UK has plenty of black ice under that frosty pavement...

I'm at Week 16 now and still recovering, still can't do stairs on my own, still need walker or crutches and have a long way to go till I can fully bend and straighten my leg. BUT I am healing...it's just really slow as it was a significant injury.
