Thanks so much, Susan. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and share your thoughts.
A shame that church can be so negative, but how can it be anything else when it's all based on fear, fear, and a lot more fear??!
Although I can't call myself a Satanist (starting with at least one simple major difference - I know there's an afterlife), I do appreciate many of their philosophies. I don't necessarily agree with every single word in the Satanic Bible but it's a fascinating book with a lot of very down-to-earth, sensible attitudes that would make the world a much better place if more people adopted them!
Not what we would expect with such a title as "Satanic Bible" - but LaVey wasn't talking about a supernatural being or a demon that's "out there and gonna get us." This is one of the Nine Satanic Statements (different from the Nine Satanic Sins listed in this piece):
Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!
So true. I love their "live and let live" attitude. They mind their own business and get on with life.
Sounds kinda good to me!
Thanks again for dropping in!!
