This is so good, Kristie! Thank you for sharing this. I used to meditate 2-3 times a day but with health issues and other personal 'stuff' in the past couple of years, I've got away from it and I miss it. I started trying again a few months after my injury but still had too much pain and discomfort to focus. Only getting a few hours' sleep at night didn't help my ability to concentrate ... !!

I gave up, but recently have been trying again to get back into the habit.

You know what's weird? For all the years I was meditating, I always did it by sitting with my legs crossed in an armchair. I can't seem to do it if I sit normally in a chair with feet on the floor or in a recliner with my legs out. But I haven't been able to sit with legs crossed because of my injury last year. It sounds ridiculous but it has really messed me up for trying to meditate!!

I can sort of do it now in an armchair, with a pillow and the arm of the chair supporting the side of my injured leg. It's still uncomfortable but I'll keep working at it.

Thank you for this excellent reminder of the benefits and to be patient in developing the daily practice. Just what I needed!
