This is wonderful!!!! I absolutely love it - and love you even more than before reading it. I can relate to so much of this - not just with my injury from last year, but I dislocated a shoulder in a car accident many years ago and couldn't use my right arm (dominant) for a few months, got very good at left-handed potato peeling etc.

I was a single parent at the time - with a very busy 3-year-old - so it was quite a challenge.

Also broke my wrist - BADLY - during the same period when I had post partum psychosis and was living with my parents. I thought it was just a bad sprain and carried on caring for my 1-year-old daughter and making meals, changing nappies etc. best I could - didn't dare ask my parents for help as they already made me feel like a burden for being there.

Twenty years later, I had another bad wrist injury and had X-rays. They said, 'nope it's not broken, but you had a very bad broken wrist 20 years ago and it didn't heal well.' Ohhh. Duh. And that's why I still have pain in that wrist and a hard time opening jars etc.!

Man, we are amazing. That we can heal and adapt to the changes it requires, and somehow we keep going and our bodies recover.

Thank you for sharing this absolutely wonderful story. I'm so so so sorry for you having had this injury and the many challenges it presented. Love your attitude, though, and the wisdom and insights you shared. Thank you! 💜
