To me, it's not about the message being conveyed. It just feels incomplete. I'm already bugged by the frequent use of initials instead of actual words in texts (many of which I do not know). I feel like, what the hell, are we so lazy now that we can't even wrote whole words? Or "u" instead of "you"?

I understand that people prefer brevity sometimes when pecking out a text. And I've been known to use LOL or an occasional BTW because they've become so commonplace in texting (which is probably the whole point of your piece - adapting to these changes).

But why the hell do they carry that over into other writing? Emails, for example, can't we use whole words in emails?? Or even in conversation, now we speak in initials? Like "WTF, Marsha, that's crazy!" ???!!? We're too lazy to use the actual words? Even stupider when it takes more syllables to say the initials than the words, as in "WTF." 🤦🏻‍♀️

It's okay, you can just call me old and get it over with. Haha!
