Well, that's sure a unique perspective! I'm all for the passionate DUMP of feelings - definitely some of my best work happens from that place. I just don't think I could publish without a good clean-up!

I hear you on seeing your own growth, though. You're such an excellent writer, I can't imagine you were ever "abysmal"! But I know what you mean. Writing has always come naturally to me and is a strength, but even with that, I look back at things I wrote ten years ago and see that I'm a much better writer now.
