Whew! I'm glad you could feel my genuine intentions with this! Yay!

Yeah ... I would not be happy about that kind of use for Witchy. She is precious to me, a huge piece of my soul with a special purpose and just by virtue of the fact that she's online, I'm aware that people can do all sorts with her and I'll never know about it. Which bothers me - but i can't change it.

I'm just saying if I found someone sharing tracings of Witchy on their IG or elsewhere, I would be more than a little upset. Especially without any credit - although even that would only be minimally helpful. Better to have someone ask first, rather than copy, use it, and just give credit. It's not like she's available on Unsplash etc. to be used for other people's enjoyment. I haven't ever given anyone permission to use her for any purpose, and I can't imagine I would.

It wouldn't even matter if they aren't using the images for commercial purposes or being paid in any way. Witchy is my creation, my intellectual property, and I would absolutely not want her copied.

Artists' creations are no different from writers' words. As writers, we don't want people copying our work without express permission or payment, depending on the circumstance.

It's the same with art.

It's like plagiarism in a drawing. It's the same to an artist as copying and pasting someone else's words and calling them your own.

I know your intentions are the best, Nanie! I appreciate your willingness to have this conversation.

Now if only it could be in person over a cuppa! Especially as you're in Ireland. I never made it there, always wanted to but I sure love England and Scotland, and I know I'd fall in love with Ireland, too. Had an Irish grandmother so it's in my blood!
