Wow. A wonderful piece, James. Thank you for sharing this story. Sadly, it seems things haven't changed much - not really. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't stop trying. The way things are going, you just might have plenty more reasons to get into good trouble (but I hope not). Thank you for an excellent story.

A lot of yours are about American political stuff and I don't have a clue about the ins and outs of it. I'm Canadian and British and don't keep up with the politics of my two countries; it does my head in listening to all the nonsense and promises and trashing each other, and everyone has the answers and they're all RIGHT and the others are WRONG and blah blah blah...

The only party I ever voted for - because they made sense to me - no longer exists.

I do my best to help make positive changes in my own way. I'll leave political battles to those who have a much better understanding of them, and who have more patience and tolerance for all the negativity. I can't cope with it.
