Wow, how frustrating. And I hear you...I got fed up with not knowing if or when they would publish. I'm working hard at building momentum and being consistent in publishing. Can't do that if they're playing around with time like this. That's why I just started two news pubs (which you're welcome to join if you want, but of course I don't have a huge following yet!). I like punctuality and efficiency - and respect! If it's going to be a while, at least let writers know! And if they can't handle all the messages, hire someone to do it or stop taking new submissions!
