Wow - I can see this in so many aspects of life including relationships. EG Thinking of the abuse in my childhood and into adulthood. I was always looking for something happier, looking for a way to escape and to be who I'm meant to be, and kept seeing what I wanted to see in men, and not seeing the bigger, awful picture - as I wrote about in my piece yesterday about being drawn to bad boys until one of them nearly killed me.

It's like the law of attraction, I suppose. If you want a red car, you'll notice so many of them you'll start to think almost every car is red!

Wish I'd had this piece of advice when I was very young. Might have saved myself a lot of abuse, a bunch of divorces and a whole lot more.
