Wow. I'm amazed that you could sit through the whole thing at 5 and not run screaming to your parents! I'm not surprised it might have left a little damage! I have zero tolerance for this kind of film - can't cope with violence at all. I'm such a baby. My kids even told me not to watch Lord of the Rings because it'll be way too much for me. But yeah, they watched it!

Great writing, as always! Love your various descriptions and alliterations, and how you've so perfectly portrayed the innocence and expectation of a 5-year-old. I could just imagine you sitting there, wide-eyed and hopeful (weirdly, my envisioning has you in a cute little onesie with cartoon characters on it - thanks to your descriptions of your inner world!)
