Wow! This is fascinating! I never gave this subject any thought until reading your article and now it's got me wondering if other animals do this, too. It wouldn't surprise me. We seem to favour the usual assortment of pets (cats and dogs) as being the only animals to potentially have human traits such as emotions (and even then, many people don't believe that's possible). But to consider that any of those traits exist in undomesticated or unpopular animals seems a stretch or many.

I know from my experiences with my snakes and working with an animal communicator when they were having health issues, it was completely shocking how much they were affected by what was going on in my life. I knew snakes bond with their owners and that they were extremely sensitive animals but it surprised even me.
