Wow, what an incredible story! It highlights a few important points - about people with DS, about the love and support of family, about standing up for ourselves when we've been bullied ... and about how there is karma ... or "what goes around, comes around."

And although it's true that bullying when modelled at home can produce more bullies, it can also produce people who are NOT bullies but who tolerate them because that's "normal." (my own upbringing with bullies)

Also - my son grew up in a home where bullying or even name-calling was not allowed but ... you know what that particular son did ...

What I love most about this story is Ailsa's response to Ned. I wish that had been me soooo many years ago. But I guess better late than never.
