Yay! A fellow pantser! I know what you mean about those papers. Although I never did grad or undergrad school but during high school and when studying social work - plus all the short stories and my novels - no idea about plotting. Always got A grades in high school and finished my social work studies with a perfect 4.0 - so you can imagine my distress when a few solid years of trauma and health stuff seemed to have sucked the pantser and creativity right out of me.

It's coming back, but Plottr is being really helpful for me. And it'll sure help with the other novels when I can move info over from one book to the next, all the supporting cast, worldbuilding, timeline stuff etc.

No idea what Linux even is - I've heard of it and I think you can use it on Plottr Pro. Good luck sorting it out! Fingers crossed for you!
